Ciara is a Senior Speech and Language Therapist with over 30 years of experience working in a variety of settings including schools, clinics, clients homes and private practice.

 

She has specialist knowledge in the area of hearing loss having recently become certified as a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist, AVT accredited by AG Bell Academy.  Prior to this she worked in the Hearing and Speech Center of Northern California in the Auditory Oral School for over 10 years.

 

She has a wealth of experience working with children with varying degrees of hearing loss using hearing aids, cochlear implants and both. 

 

While living in San Francisco she consulted with the  University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Cochlear Implant Team.

She is a registered member of the following organizations: Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists (IASLT), the Irish Speech and Language Therapists in Private Practice (ISTI) the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and CORU. In addition she is the secretary of the Irish Special Interest Group, SIG for speech and language therapists interested in hearing loss and holds a California speech and language therapy license.
